The Merriam Parks and Recreation Department has something for everyone. Explore this section and enroll or visit one of our youth recreation programs.

Intro to STEM   

Registration Begins April 2
Rachet up your imagination with ten of thousands of  LEGO┬« parts! Design and build as never before, and explore your craziest ideas in a supportive environment. No prerequisites. Cities, garbage trucks, catamarans, and dinosaurs will be our focus projects. 

STEM Challenge

    Registration Begins April 2
Power up your engineering skills with Play-Well TEKnologies and ten of thousands of  LEGO┬« parts! Apply realworld concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture though engineer-designed projects. No prerequisites. Forklifts, houseboats, mini-golf courses, and the London Tower Bridge design will be our focus projects. 

The Ki Society
Aikido is a defensive Japanese martial art. Aikido's goal is to remove aggression from situations. The power of Aikido comes from centering, relaxing and extending "Ki" energy rather than physical size and strength.   Instructor: Vic Montgomery
Preschool Indoor Playground
Visit our magical indoor playground every Tuesday year-round, where it's never rainy, snowing or too hot. Little Tyke riding toys, a kitchen and more! Special activities included near the holidays. Parents must supervise their own children during playground time. 9:30am-11:30am; Ages 5 & under; 
$2 per child/per day or punch card available for 10 visits at $10.

Challenger Sports Soccer Camp

June 18 -22 at Waterfall Park. Register with Challenger by January 31, 2018 for a free sack pack. Deadline for a free soccer jersey(shipping $7.95) is 45 day in advance of class.
