The City’s Planning Commission is hosting a public hearing on Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. during its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at City Hall. The Planning Commission will receive feedback on proposed ordinance amendments to fencing, group home, and home occupation within Merriam.
Proposed changes to the fencing ordinance include what fencing materials are allowed and requiring “neighbor side out” when putting in a new fence. Amendments to the group home ordinance would bring the City in line with state and federal laws and regulations. The home occupation discussion will determine how City ordinances can better reflect the changing work environment as more individuals work from home as independent contractors.
You can call the Planning Commission at 913-322-5520 if you have any questions.
