Music Festival Coming to Downtown Merriam on October 6

MDL Logo

Love live music? Then head to downtown Merriam on Saturday, Oct. 6 as it transforms into a street and lawn party for Merriam Drive Live. There will be live music on two stages throughout the day, food trucks, a beer garden, touch-a-truck, yard games, kid’s activities and music, select vendors, and more from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

This inaugural event takes place on Merriam Drive between Merriam Marketplace and the Irene B. French Community Center. Admission is free.

The headline band is Lyin’ Eyes – an Eagles tribute band. Other performers include Scott Duncan, Nick Schnebelen Band, Jenn Lari Duo, and Rusty Laffoon Duo. While you listen to great tunes, your kids can participate in touch-a-truck and get a close encounter with a Merriam police car, fire truck, dump truck, street sweeper, trash truck, and backhoe. They can also enjoy face painting, caricatures, bounce houses, DJ the Balloon Man, and kid’s music from Rock n’ Rob.

Merriam Drive will be closed between 57th St. and 58th St. on Oct. 6  from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Please bring lawn chairs or blankets. No outside alcohol or coolers will be allowed. Free parking will be available at Merriam Marketplace, the Irene B. French Community Center, Merriam Christian Church, and Waterfall Park.

Merriam Drive Live is sponsored by Downtown Merriam Partnership; Merriam Parks, Recreation, and Community Center Foundation; Lindan Auto Mechanical & Body; Jimmy John’s; Health Partnership Clinic; Electronic Technology; and Midwestern Mechanical Specialties.
