During its meeting on Monday, the City Council formally accepted Ward One Councilmember Robert Weem’s resignation.
Weems notified the Council of his intent to resign during the February 11 Council meeting, citing a move out of the city limits as the reason. Weems was elected in April 2015.
“Councilmember Weems has served our community well during his nearly four years on the Council. His perspective will be missed, and we wish him well in his new home,” Mayor Sissom said.
During the meeting Monday, the City Council also reviewed the timeline and process for filling the vacant seat.
