Merriam’s newest councilmember, Jason Silvers, was ceremonially sworn in at the June 10 City Council meeting. The City Council in April appointed Silvers to fill the vacant Ward 1 seat previously filled by Robert Weems.
Silvers and his wife moved to Merriam in 2012. He said he’s excited to get involved in City policy.
“I take pride in the City of Merriam, and I want to do my part to ensure it remains a place to call home,” Silvers said. “As a Merriam councilmember, my goals are to keep Merriam diverse, affordable, and sustainable.”
Silvers’ term runs through the end of the year.
