Antioch Park

Antioch Park is owned and operated by Johnson County Parks and Recreation District. Each year Merriam's annual Turkey Creek Festival is held here on the 3rd Saturday in May.

Brown Park, a 3.68-acre linear park. The initial park was obtained by the City of Merriam in July 1975 and was named for Esther Brown, a local resident who organized citizen support for the 1949 Webb v. School District 90 case. This case set the background for the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education lawsuit.

Campbell Park

Campbell Park, originally referred to as “Old Horseshoe Bend” is nestled where 61st Street meets Turkey Creek. Looking across the creek, one can see the remains of an access road that was once utilized as the east/west thoroughfare. Campbell Park is a unique park for the city in that the land is owned by the Merriam Drainage District of Johnson County.

Chatlain Park

One of Merriam's most active and beautiful parks, named for John Chatlain who served as a Merriam City Council member for 31 years. This 5.25-acre park provides an access point to the Turkey Creek Streamway Trail.

Merriam Historic Plaza

6304 E. Frontage Road, Merriam 66203

The Merriam Historic Plaza was established in August 2006 to pay homage to the former Merriam Park of 1880. This attraction houses the Merriam Visitors Bureau and complements other notable historic sites throughout Merriam. MHP features a walking path with 12 markers depicting the history of Merriam from pre-settlement to current day. A meeting room is also available for weekday rentals.

Merriam Marketplace

Quail Creek Park

Quail Creek Park is a 5.25-acre linear park. Merriam bought the park’s land after a torrential rainstorm flooded the area in the late 1990s.

Turkey Creek Streamway Trail

Approximately four miles of paved, multi-use trail running from 75th Street to Antioch Road. The trail route follows the path of Turkey Creek and passes through wooded areas, a butterfly garden, and several parks.

Waterfall Park

Waterfall Park is named for its most prominent natural feature, a waterfall in Turkey Creek. This 15-acre park features soccer fields, a playground, and access to Turkey Creek Streamway Trail.
